+1. With five laps to go, his chance to become points leader evaporates. What a shame.

Still have to credit Ham for fighting his way back from his off to protect what he could that turned into more than enough. He earned his tax-free $2,200,000 per race ($33,846/lap) salary today.

It's going to be a long month waiting for Spa.

started pole, then fell down to ninth, and fought back to fifth very impressive

So glad I DVR'd that race because I want to re-live it. Easily the best race of the season.

Loved the Jules Bianchi tribute before the race, I lost it. My girlfriend woke up and goes "why are your eyes wet?" lol

I also DVR-ed the race and have already watched it twice. One of the best races yet.

I don't get all the hate for Hamilton. He made a couple silly mistakes and fell way way back on the first lap. Then fought really hard to climb the ladder. Then another incident broke his wing and he fell way behind again, and still fought his way into points. He even set some fastest laps, iirc. Rosberg, who is essentially in the same car couldn't pass the Ferrari's. To me that sounds like he's got real skill, and not just the best car (he does have the best car, I think).

Anyways, it was a crazy race. I don't like to see that many crashes, but at least we know that the drivers were really pushing hard.

I wonder if Lotus accidentally fired Maldonado before the race, if they haven't they should. How else can you explain 3 penalties!!! He must have been doing it on purpose. With all the collisions on the circuit, I'm almost shocked Mehri wasn't in any of them!!!

McLaren double points finish. I'm not a betting man but I wonder what odds I would have gotten if I wanted to place that bet.

I think Hamilton's difficulty in the race was the result of mental complacency after qualifying. He was fastest all weekend and dominated qualifying... again.

Then after watching the Ferraris drive by him, he overcompensated which lead to a mistake, first the contact with Ricciardo and 2nd driving off course putting him back to 11th. After his contact with Daniel, someone should have come on the radio and said, "calm down, race clean, no more mistakes, you'll get back to the lead in the 2nd half." But nope.

As for Rosberg, this weekend proves he's just not that good. He flat got out raced by a slower car in a straight up battle and then when he made the over/under on Ricciardo he had a rocketship exit with plenty of room to err on the side of caution but instead cuts over too early. WTF dude.

Positives from this race:
-Someone other than a Merc won
-No Mercs on the podium for a change (I like merc, but I like variety too)
-The race was actually interesting.
-Kimi was doing well until his car wasn't.
-Torrents + Sky Sports have reminded me why I don't need NBC in my life and OMG is that broadcast better (and commercial free)!
-Alonso and Button both finished in the points!!!

I don't understand all the Hamilton hating either. He's a damn good driver with or without the Merc.

I do like change though and having two Red Bulls and a Ferrari on the podium and 3 very deserving drivers made my day. I cant wait to see Verstappen on the podium for the first time!

This weekend was hands down the best race of the year.

I don't think people "hate" Hamilton. They're just tired of seeing him P1 all the time. It does nothing to keep the sport interesting. Just like when Vettel was winning a million races in a row.

I think he was down in 16th at one point; makes his comeback even more impressive.

I need to start doing this. NBC isn't terrible (compared to others) but the constant split screen commercial breaks are getting on my nerves.

A lot of drivers didn't seem to have their heads in the game. Maldonado, Massa, and Hamilton stick out. I'd pay good money too to access a legit Sky Sports F1 stream stateside.

I think you mean Schumacher who dominated for years on end, although Vettel domination was just as boring he really only had the series on lock for two years ('11 and '13).

As for Maldonado I'm still bitter Williams dropped Senna instead of Pastor for Bottas for the '13 season, Bottas panned out for sure but Senna had potential imo, way more than Pastor. Guy should have been out of a ride years ago, arguably he never should have gotten an F1 ride in the first place given his 'lifetime ban' from Monaco.

Not to mention split-channel broadcast. Is it on NBC? NBCSN? CNBC?

Seriously.. why would a major sporting event like F1 ever be broadcast on a channel like CNBC? Next thing you know the NBA finals will air on Bravo!

NBC is like the Comcast of broadcast networks... Oh, wait...
