Today's sessions went great, finally broke into the 1:25s! The PFC Race Pads are AWESOME. Much less pedal pressure, and no fade. Here's a video of our fastest lap, a 1:25.8:

Nice lap! You got me by 0.03. Do you guys have the aero on yet?

Yes, this was with the FT86 Speed Factory underbody aero. Still going through the data trying to see how/why/if it worked. RE71Rs are pretty done, I think we'll pick up quite a bit more speed with a fresh set.

Are you using the ft86 speed factory rear diffuser and front splitter? I am interested in your data to see if and how it worked.

Yes. Driver feedback indicates the high speed push is reduced, and we're gaining lots of time in the fast corners. I've sent a datalog to the Velox guys for a thorough analysis of our two sessions.

How would you compare these to the Hawk HP+? I run 90% autocross with a few track days mixed in.

We've never run the HP+ pads on this car. Looking at the data, though, it doesn't seem like Dave's having trouble getting them to come up to temperature. Brake pressure is consistent throughout the runs, and if they were too "cold" I'd expect to see higher pressures on the first laps.

The car's been parked waiting for another 1.7 CCW test day, but we had a chance to install one of the production pedal kits on our car instead of my prototyped block. Looks much better!

I know we haven't been posting much lately, but we're still chugging along. Be watching for these pedal kits from FT86 Speed Factory soon!

Due to G-Speed sharing the data from the aero testing they worked with us on, we are able to see some real life changes on track with the aero kit being the only thing changed. This is very neat for us as we have only had CFD data and personal experience to go off of before this. We can't thank G-Speed enough for this opportunity!

The person who did this data analysis, Ryan, moonlights for Velox Motorsports and is a good friend of mine. For his day job, he is a suspension engineer for one of the biggest racing names in the world and currently works on their IndyCar team. The conclusions we came to is from comparing the session 1 and session 2 fastest laps.

As Paul and I expected, we were not able to see a change in ride height data. We estimate 160 pounds of downforce at 100 MPH with our kit through our CFD analysis. This load however, is spread out on all 4 wheels, which ultimately is not that high of a load on each corner. Ryan did say he would likely not be able to see this downforce change on an IndyCar either.

What we are able to discern from the data is that the driver used less brake pressure and had higher entry speeds into the corners. Both of these signify an increase in driver confidence, likely from reduced lift.

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks for that awesome analysis, Eric. Glad we could help! We have people ask about our aero all the time at the track, and it's nice to have confidence in our recommendation.

We've now changed our username on here from "PST" to "GSpeed," and there's a link in my sig as to why. Rest assured, though, this means even more great things are in store for this car's future. We've got some extremely experienced racecar builders running the show now with lots of PWC, Grand Am, and ALMS experience. We've got some big plans for this car, as well as new products in the pipeline.

This is more of a teaser than a meaningful update, but since we're a dealer for Essex Parts now, we decided to order a little something for the BRZ...

We debated making our own kit with Performance Friction parts, but this kit is great already, and the market's just not there for multiple kits. No sense reinventing the wheel when there's already an awesome one out there!

Where do you plan on installing the brake ducts on the car? Through the Fog lights?

oh oh my car and your car is getting closer and closer

Is that the Endurance kit ? I see that you have the brake ducts piece ! I wish they were offering the brake duct piece for the Sprint kit !!!

I opted for the print kit and running Carbotech XP12 front and back and they work great but trigger the ABS (with pedal dance) too often on side load changes. I am thinking about running less abrasive pads in the front.

Anyways, I can't wait to read your, always scientific, findings on these !
