Mightily impressed by the MT and C&D first drive reviews, but they always say nice things in the beginning, took a few months for the Giulia to lose favor with the publications.

Or even the Civic Si Sedan Market. I would jump on a 4 Door 86 if the weight/price/fun factor is good. It could draw quite a bit of folks that love practicality but want A MT like the TSX, G35/37, Civic Si.

I never understood this. A four door 86 is called a Lexus IS.

The whole premise behind this thread is stupid.

We live in a world where auto manufacturers slap turbos, suspension parts and big brake kits on their shitty four door economy cars, and people buy them to race red light to red light pretending they're driving sports cars. Then you have someone come along with an actual, real, lightweight, affordable sports car designed from the ground up not as an economy shitbox but for handling and performance...

And idiots want it turned into a shitty four door economy car.

Someone should take away your keys. You don't deserve this car.

Well you should ask that question to the Evo and STI folks.

Or they buy "an actual, real, lightweight, affordable sports car designed from the ground up not as an economy shitbox but for handling and performance" and complain its not fast enough red light to red light and "slap turbos, suspension parts and big brake kits" on them.

LOL, the FR-S/BRZ/86 is a well-done "economy shitbox". You should be happy it might be driving competition in the market for more cars that offer a bit more fun than a kitchen appliance, and maybe expose more people to the concept that driving does not have to be soul-killing boredom or cost as much as a house.

Butthurt car snobbery from someone who drives an FR-S/BRZ/86 is funny. I hope the Stinger is a success.

So am I the only one that thinks it looks like a cheap imitation of a Prius, which is already an undesirable car itself?

This is exactly how I looked at mine and why I was okay with buying one despite how slow they are. If you look at it as a good, economical vehicle like a civic but without wrong wheel drive and on a much more performance oriented chassis, it is a fantastic vehicle.

If you look at it as a good all around performance car, it just isn't, despite how loud all the "slow car fast" morons scream that it is. It still isn't a non-performance economy car chassis that the OEM slapped a big turbo and different springs/dampers onto after the fact so there's that. It has a lot more potential than that, and that counts for something.

Looks like to me a little like of one of these.... Saw one in may when I was in Paris.

I think the GT86 deserves to be a 4 door as much as an Aston. Which is not at all.
