Just don't have the plate sitting on your dash, unsecured like a lot of idiots I see. Might as well have a machete there when you get into a crash.

I swear, some people just don't have the foresight to see that a license plate is a sharp-edged metal plate that can easily slice through the jugular in a crash.

I did run the tow hook location when I just got the car. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place to have it. The look of no front plate grew on me and I just decided to run it until I'm told by the police. I was sooo happy the dealer didn't drill holes for the center plate holder. The salesman thought it looked better without it lol.

Hint: 3M double sided tape attaching your plate to your passenger side sun visor counts.
Great suggestion! I never thought of this. This would probably be what I would do next. Just curious, where did you find this information of "less than 60 inches from the ground". Not to cause any argument, I would like to know where to locate this in case someone calls me out on it. I just want to be prepared with some facts.

I have never ran a front plate. I have had a few state cops be complete wieners, but I have only received one ticket in all the time I did it. Just recently moved to a one plate state though, so I am glad at least the BRZ doesn't have bumper holes.

That's in the California Vehicle Code. That was a cut and paste straight from the text of the regulations.

I'd rather not get pulled over, regardless of the fine.
$85 that is harsh. Here in the pricey Bay Area my last fix it ticket for no front plate was $25. It is very rarely enforced.

Also I'm running a front plate because it'd be extra idiotic to do so with my brown skin

Also I think OP is kill

I know right?!?! I always cringe when I see people do this...Just imagining the metal flying off and slicing your throat...

...Do not know what people are thinking! But hey, guess that's a great form of natural selection.

After additional Googling, it appears it may actually be $70. I swear I saw $85 a while back, but this document disagrees:
