Disappointed at LaminX

I got my LaminX today for my 2017 Fog lights and I was disappointed at the precuts for this fog light style. Not only that but I expected a deeper yellow, Instead i got a light yellow output.

I should've purchased a whole sheet instead.

satisfied with mine as well, 3+ years on all time headlights are on, no discoloration. and the solution to deep yellow output would be actual bulbs that emit yellow light.

OP i suspect you may need to order the 13.14.15 version.

If you want a brighter, deeper yellow then you should look into 3k HID bulbs.

The 2017 fog lights do not use bulbs. They have built in LEDs.

Oh ok, nice. I wonder if anyone makes yellow LEDs for them yet.

LED's through Laminx/film often ends up with slightly wonky colors. My sister has a set of 5000k LED foglights that to the human eye show up as a nice pure white. I got her some yellow laminx and the two together show up as a weird pea green color.

Swapped in some 4300k halogens, and it's a nice yellow color, some 5000k halogens and it's a bright/light yellow. Back to the LED's and it's green.

In my 15, I got the blacked out glass depo housings for the outback, and added 3000k Hella halogens with an adapter harness. They look fantastic, but I don't know if the 17+ wiring can support the wattage, as they are made for LED's not halogens like the 13-16 cars are.

Sorry to hear that they gave you some weird cut outs. I had the lamin-x fog light covers on my frs. About a year, no complaints. A little over a year and a half, I started noticing a darker shade in the middle of the cover. A few months later, it had gotten bigger and found out it was burning it and it had hardened. Perhaps I had installed them incorrectly, but it definitely protected them from all the rock chips in the free way. I ended up scarping it off and just running it without it. I am running stock bulbs if that helps.

Huh, I have em on mine since '14 and don't have any issue on headlights nor foglights... but I am running LED foglight bulbs from Diode Dynamics, so output temperature might be different
