Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - 7/28/2023

Track: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - 7/28/2023
Car: 2013 Subaru BRZ
Notes: JDL 4-2-1 Header, K&N Panel Filter/Heat Wrapped OEM air box/tube, Moto-East Flex Fuel E-78 race time, Delicious Tuning tune, Shaftworks USA coilovers, Racer-X end links, stock sway bars, Whiteline rear LCA (new version), Whiteline rear toe links, STI oem gfx, RR Racing Stage 2 front-Hawk HP+, RR Racing Sport rear-Wilwood BP10, Kosei 17x7 wheels, Hoosier R7 225/45-17 5-ish heat cycles (first time on track for me)
Notes: Third session, got rained out after. First track day this year but a good bit of Solo and RallyX. Still lots of nerves but was starting to get into the groove until the rain hit right after my last session. Lots of room to improve but the car felt great other than the wiggle in the braking zone in the back straight.

2023 NASA Championships at PittRace in the TT5 Subaru BRZ. Finally made it to my first NASA Champs event and stoked to make it out to yet another new track. PittRace marks my 15th track driven in the USA. This track was well worth the 9.5 hour drive up from SC and grateful to get up with race car buddies once again for a good time.

Regardless of the never ending paddock drama fighting wet weather, a failing OCV on test day and the NASA dyno bs; I am seriously impressed with how well the BRZ performed especially on a semi-slapped same day setup. --- Out of 4.5 sessions at this new track I managed to break into the 57's with a PB of 1:57.41 on 2HC 225/40 R7's. I sure didn't show up and take shit home for Nats but we ran this machine down to the bone proving the potential of the 86 chassis yet again.

Here's 3 consec's of the PB sesh. "We live to drive another day." Cheers!

Works great for me. I like having something telling me to go faster as well as the instant review ease of catalyst. But if I need to dig deeper nothing compares to the aim data. Used to use a GoPro for incar video but such a chore to add overlays, etc, so got the Smartycam3 to make it painless.

Very helpful thanks and it makes sense. Sounds like the driving coach is more helpful than gimmick. Currently using the smartycam 3 and solo which I love but instant feedback does sound nice. He says as he is digging into his data lol

Notes: Trans with MFactory Short Gears failed on Thursday, Installed a fresh OEM one Friday but gearing didn't match well with the 4.67 Final Drive so ran out of gear most of the track and didn't have that shorter 6th gear. Going to swap the 4.3 back in next week. This wasn't my PB but glad I could gain some experience running at GTA.
