So sorry to hear this.... I feel your pain. It is even more upsetting to think if it was done deliberately, rather then neglect.

Keep in mind, it is "just a car" and cars can be fixed. Just the same, I know it sucks!!

Making an insurance claim for any repair that is less than $1k is not worth it. Granted, this would fall under comprehensive, thus no fault. However, no claim is better than any claim and save the claims for major repair.

Buy a $200 clunker and park it second from the end in the car park row. Arrive in the morning and park at the end of the row. You've then boxed yourself in and only have either the front or rear exposed to danger.

Move the clunker to the street at night if the school complain.

Anyway, glad to hear you found who you need to deal with for the repair.

You're purporting that someone drove their BMW into his car on purpose...? What is this, a demolition derby.

I've always been super paranoid about parking my cars near another in stalls too...
If I absolutely have no choice; I usually find a pillar or a wall and park right up next to it with my passenger side to it.
That way, when I come back... I worry 1 less side of potential damages and just have to inspect the driver side.

Anyways, glad you've found the person who's responsible for the damages.
Now money doesn't have to come out of your own wallet!

Most. but not all. lol. I drove a brand new (at the time) 350Z in high school and it never sustained damage (even though I was fearful of such). I also drove my mom's old 95 Mustang GT to school occasionally to take some heat away from the Z. I always parked the farthest away from school and next to my friends cars, and the car was untouched all throughout high school. However, throughout my college life, the Z has sustained 2 door dings and a keyed gas cap cover. I don't know who the hell just keys the gas cap and not the rest of the car, but I was pissed yet thankful it was just the gas cap. A $50 repaint. The only thing that changed from high school to college with my car, was nice wheels and a clean front lip, so maybe the cosmetic mods drew more attention to the car, but either way, it happened on a college campus. When I get the BRZ, I am parking off campus and taking a little walk to school. It doesn't hurt to park far away and take a little walk to class.

After getting the $300 head unit stolen out of my first car in college and the fiberglass side vent smashed on my second car, I decided to stop paying the f***ing parking fee and park off campus. Same distance to walk, no damage sustained since, and saved money!

Parking in my school's lot is free. I usually park in the back of the lot where the car enthusiasts park (mostly really nice mustangs that are driven by semi-fanboys.) My friend also parks his mustang in the back, I try to park next to him every morning. I'm getting a quote for the damage tomorrow from a body shop that my friend's uncle works at. Hopefully the girl who hit my car takes responsibility for the damage she did, but I'm just glad most of this is over.

Honestly this happened to me with my gti in highschool a lot. I never got keyed or bumped into but id have coffee dumped on my car and get egged occasionally... My best solution to the problem was drinking three protein shakes a day and hitting the gym 5/7 times a week. Get big and no one will wanna fuck with your car, atleast in highschool lol!

lol yea i guess it really depends on the high school and college you attended. My high school parking lot was really bad. The college i go to is better, but not perfect. Being a commuter school probably helps. Today when i walked out to my car, some ass clown parked about one foot from my door. What made me mad was there were plenty of parking spots, because it was sunday. I have really long doors so its even more difficult for me to get in when people park like that. Half the lot was empty, why?

I feel for you man that's my worst nightmare parking anywhere.. sigh... i would cry. I'm practically crying for you right now lol.. Good luck with getting her back to normal and yeah i'd keep an eye out at your high school for the white cars to see if any have damage to kind of pinpoint who might've done it. Grr
