Just a FYI for you guys.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1787471

A lot of my posts in that thread are gone, leading me to believe that the vendor asked for my posts in that thread to be deleted. I'm 100% confident that the product is crap at this point.

if i wanted to use semi slick tyres, most likely the advan a050, would it be worth staying with 17x8 and use a 215/45/17 tyre or jump up to a 17x9 wheel and use a 235/45/17 tyre?

You can go with either (I've assumed you've increased power & torque ~20% via the E85/4.55 combo). If you plan to develop the car further, including aero, I'd suggest going straight to the 17X9/235 combo. Use a probe pyrometer to confirm your camber and toe are still good with that tire; if you haven't already, it's probably worth asking other racers how stiff they've found the sidewall to be. How much do those tires cost (I did a quick search and they looked pretty spendy!)?

Since even the brake pads were proprietary, it wasn't too tempting anyways. I like having options available to me.

How often do you bleed the clutch?

I did the brakes RBF600, and made me notice the clutch master cylinder fluid is very dark compared to the new brake fluid.

Should I bleed it? I have a bottle of Subaru brake fluid, can I use that for the clutch?

Thanks to all of the advice I got here, I went 4 seconds faster this time in homestead!! I think I'm finally getting that "smoother is faster".

This was my fastest and smoothest lap:
[ame]http://youtu.be/tUtW39aZJKI[/ame]

This was my second fastest lap but it was a little sloppy. My tires started going off and after 5 sessions I think I was a little tired.

I'm all ears for more advice!! Thank you!!

Car was stock, with the exception of hawk hp+ pads.

One thing that will help some is to not do such a binary steering input. Feed steering in to let the car's weight transfer. Specifically you want to have the derivative of your steering lock (so the rate of change) have a curve to it (sort of like a bell curve). The idea here is to get the weight to transfer smoothly so you have more consistent traction.

As there is no view of your hands in the first video I don't know if you were doing it there, but in the second one you are having pretty jerky inputs (though it looks like you smooth it out some for the second lap's start).

Once a year, and just use fluid left over from a brake bleed.

If you're not going to be vigilant about it, get a cheap DOT3 fluid from your local auto store, and use that.

yeah the a050 are quite a bit normally but i have mates in the industry that can help on that

it seems to be the tyre of choice in australia so ill go with it soon enough.
