Specifically, he was noting that I was giving too much input on initial turn in and then using the throttle (and some steering) to make my way through the rest of the turn. I believe that this could have been the cause of some understeer on initial turn in as well, but I was on new tires and camber plates for the first time so it could be due to that as well.

Tire temps were within 1-2 degrees of each other across the inside, middle and outside and pressures were ~38 hot. I'm on Goodyear Eagle F1's with stock suspension and Raceseng CamCas plates, with ~ -3 degrees of camber up front and -1 in the rears and an extra degree of caster up front. Only other mods are pads, lines and fluid.

I wish I had in car video to show you, but my question is how can I work on slowing my inputs down and make my steering more linear, both on and off track? And what might be some signs that I am turning in too much initially (ie loud tires, understeer, etc)? Thanks!
The only way you can focus on it, is to pay attention to your steering on corner entry. Don't forget about the track in front of you, but slow down your pace, and focus on slowing down the rate of your input.

Also, turn in earlier.

If you're causing loss of traction with too much input, your car will bite and turn in with a delay after your input, similar to having a roll center that is too low.

All this track talk makes me wish I lived somewhere else right now. It was 119* on the drive home today. Next local event isn't until October. I can't wait to become one of those snowbirds I always complain about.

I'm not saying that every 5k is too frequent, just that there is such a thing as "changing more often CAN hurt things". This isn't the case on the diff and manual trans because they are just dip-lubed, but for automatics and engines (i.e. things with fluid pump lubricated surfaces), it can be a problem.

Also, it increases the risk of getting a cross-threaded plug on any unit because you have a small chance of that happening each time you unplug and replug the pan.
You do know that in some countries toyota recommends a 5k interval for changing oil/servicing all their cars.

Trying to finalize my decisions on future wheel, tire, brake setup.

I'm basically decided on AP sprint. Should I stick with XP10 pads for that, I'm using that now on stock and like them. I'd like a street pad also that is quiet. What would recommend? Is there one that will work with OEM rear pads so I don't have to buy front and rear? If not that's ok.

Wheels. I am looking at PF01 17x8, they come in +45 and +35. I like +45 because it is closer to stock but I like +35 because there is more room for camber, especially for future when I will likely have a 225 tire and camber plate. I have -1.3 right now with bolts. Which offset should I get?

Tires. This I just need someone to tell me what to get, I can't decide. I was leaning to AD08R I heard they are good in the wet and dry. The tires would be swapped on at the track and off before leaving but I don't want to have to sit out if it rains. I also hear RE11A and ZII.

Then comes size. I was thinking just try stock size 215/45 first and next set try 225/45, or should I just start with 225? Please just tell me what to get here I think I'm too new to really make a decision lol

Sorry for the long post, any input is appreciated.

I just put on 18x8.5 +48 PF01 (check the wheel directory) and I have -1.5* camber up front on the stock suspension.

17x8 + 45 should have plenty of room unless you want to go really crazy on the camber.

What you want to be considering then is Scranton, PA. Yes, it has winter, but it is the perfect place to live due to its central location, track-wise. You'd be seven hours or less from tracks ranging from VIR to Mont-Tremblant, Mosport to Mid-Ohio, and everything in between - the exact opposite of what you have now. Check it out.

If you like the XP10 on the stock calipers, the XP10 will work well for you with the AP Sprint. Do you remember how difficult it was to bed your first set of race pads? You'll go through that struggle again, since your brake system's heat capacity and dissipation ability will be immensely increased. However, once properly bedded, noise levels and pedal feel will be the same.

With a 17x8, either offset will work. Our RPF1 is 17x8 +45, and we run a 225 tire on it. Even at -4.5 degrees of camber, they don't touch the springs, even when using stock-size (Swift spec-r) springs on OEM dampers.

I'd recommend the RE11A, as it's the easiest tire to learn with. However, you can't go wrong with the others, as well as the Hankook RS3.

When you get wheels, go with 225 at the same time.

Im currently running PMU HC800 pads, slotted Stoptech rotors, braided lines, motul 5.1 and apr brake ducts. Do you think I'll be okay for Mid-Ohio? I'm still a noob and practicing my trail braking in this car.

If it's still new to you, you should be okay. If the brakes stop responding, keep that in mind as you keep driving.

Are you guys just testing the setup at -4.5 or are you settled on that much negative camber?
It was more to just see if the wheels fit.

What are you guys running on a regular basis? or is there a regular basis for you? What has been your favorite spring/damper combo or coilover? I know this can depend on the track and other setup stuff, but what stands out to you personally as 'wow, yeah, that was awesome'?

I'm planning to setup for TTD class and trying to plan the points. I'm already gonna take a 3 point hit for having the paddle shifters...
