What options do we have for a blow off valve?

Also, I want to get a gauge for boost or A/F ratio and was wondering if anyone had recommendations.

Autometer elite series for gauges.

and as far as I know superchargers don't have BOV's

I second that. Im interested in the blow off sound to vent to atmosphere and if it can be done would be really nice

BOVs:
A) Yes, there is a Blow Off Valve (or bypass valve) in the HKS S/C kit and it works the same & serves 1/2 the function of a BOV on a turbo car [on a turbo'd car the BOV relieves intake pressure to help keep the turbo spinning - on a s/c'd car the engine is keeping the s/c spinning regardless]. It relieves a pressure spike against the throttle plate and compressor wheel and prevents that additional (unwanted) air to cause a lean spike.

B) Mechanically - sure you could install a different BOV in place of the BOV included in the s/c kit. You'd have to adapt a flange, but a SSQV (for example) would serve the same purpose as the included BOV (though I'm sure the hysteresis & response would be drastically different)

C) I've never capped the s/c inlet to be able to VTA so I have no idea how the included BOV would sound. Based on the design & size differences, I'm sure it's nothing like a SSQV would sound. Since that air has already been metered by the MAF, we may get rich spikes and throw CELs for the missing air & extra fuel. And now you guys have me curious....

On my V1 kit there was an audible hissing when the relief valve opened between gear changes. Not anywhere near the sound effect from an SSQV.

I am still waiting for my replacement blower comimg from V3 production BTW. All I can think is WTF??

Anyone interested in this kit I will advise you to check your ecu ID#, apparently mine is the only one not registered and can not use the flash editor, waiting to hear back from hks japan for a timeline on when maybe I can get this problem fixed.

Anyone with the V3 and SSQV would like to make a video of how it would sound? Very curious about it. Sorry if its a noob question, but just curious about the outcome....

No, the Flash Editor must be married to a unmodified, stock ECU.

Scott@HKSUSA I have a question for you:

As you would recall I have a replacement 7040L blower on order for some time thru one of your recommended dealers. This is to replace my damaged V1 and was going to ship with the V3 kits state side as it is the same blower. I am way overdue to receive mine based on the estimated time given. When I contact the retailer who has had full payment a few months now they don't give me any answers. Last conversation they said they can't get info now as SEMA was on. Its now 2 weeks past and they don't even contact me.

Have the V3 kits arrived state side yet??

I don't want things to get messy with the dealer and the credit card etc but there seems to be little interest from the dealer to communicate with me and I am concerned.

Oh no! The ecu flash will not work with the 2015? The HKS page now reads "2012 - 2014 only". Is HKS working on an update to work with the 2015 ecu?
