Enkei RPF1 17x7+42 anyone?

Hi everyone, I am interested in seeing if anyone has bought the enkei rpf1 in 17x7 for stock class auto x. If so does anyone have a pic to see what these look like? I am thinking they look almost the same as the 17 x 8. Thanks

I know they are in the works. Interested to see what size tires everyone is going to go with. 225/40/17, 235/40/17, etc...

I plan on buying these wheels next year (group buy anyone?)

Will probably run either 225/45 RS-3's or 235/40 Dunlops ZII's

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by what they will look like ... but they will look exactly like any other RPF1... but an inch narrower than the X8's... and with 6mm additional offset than the stock wheel, adding a total of 12mm of track width front and rear, which is approx. a 1/4"... or 1/8" per side, which means it wont be very noticeable.

I'll be putting a 245/40 R-comp on them for next season... not sure yet if that will be a Hoosier, Goodyear, or BFG.... since I don't have the funds to properly test them, I'll probably stick with the Hoosiers.

Different width/offets look different due to the 12 spokes' design. Some setups or flat, some convex, some concave. That appearance matters to some people enough to not buy a certain size (but not me!)

I'll be sticking with 215 RS3s as street tires don't oversize well for autocross. If I was doing Hoosiers (RTR though, I cant stand Rcomps in stock haha), 245s would be the choice.

Nice to see they finally have the 17x7s in stock.

Street tires with stiff sidewalls work fine for autocross. The guys successful running in RTR last year were running 235/245 Star Specs on 17x7 rims. The RS3s aren't quite as good oversized as the Star Specs though.

I saw the results were listing the Dunlops but where did you see them listing their tire size setup?

In Florida, the RS3 gets so damn hot most of the year that it tends to outdo the Star Spec since it's so warm.

I have to buy tires very very soon and I'd go Dunlop if I could try the new SS2 but they are lagging so far behind on their release here

Dunlops are way off in availability im fairly sure ... As far as looks, not that big a deal for me but I just think the spokes might stick out way past the rim in a 7" width.

Also for what it's worth based on what I've read and seen this rim has the best offset for running in stock class

Technically, yes. +42 is the most aggressive offset you can run on this car legally for stock class. Though I doubt anyone loses/wins a position in their event over 12mm wider/shorter stance on each end of the car.

My wheels are 1.65mm too far offset technically for stock class but no one local has had a complaint. I'm sure my wins were all due to that 3.3mm stance increase :P

I'm a little concerned what they'll look like also but I'll buy them anyways. They can't look much worse than the stock wheels. I'm planning on running 225/45/17 Star Spec II's. My kid works at Tire Rack in technical support and I told him to grab a set for me when they come in.
