Eibach Multi-Pro-R1 VS KW v3
yes this is going to be comparing the two. not by me. but people who may have used or seen them or prior use of them. i know a lot of people on this site love the KW v3's and i see why. just want to know how the R1's add up? also maybe the cusco... basically im looking at a coilover that i can use on a mostly DD style but one that i can also track on the weekend(once a month or so) and hopefully more in the future.
please dont castrate me. because im sure there is plenty of information on the V3's on here i just want to hear what people have to say about the two. and any other things you would change that i would need to have done if i get these.. keep in mind im looking at around 3k for suspension parts... roughtly. thanks for your time KCCO. |

Well no one (outside of testers) have the Eibach's yet, so this won't be too active with real info for awhile...
Based on specs alone though, the KW V3 is a 2 way damper, R1 is a 1 way. The R1 includes camber plates which also add caster up front, and new top hats in the rear, the V3's reuse the stock hats (or you can use various aftermarket plates, point is though they aren't included). Both use 2.5" springs so replacement springs are easily located and cheap, but probably easier to order custom with the R1s. IIRC the V3s for these cars do not have ext res for the rear, the R1 does. To switch to a two way, and get ext res up front, the R2 is the option you'd want. There are vendors here taking preorders ( @JoeBoxer and @FT-86 SpeedFactory for example) for the Eibachs. Another option to consider are the KW Clubsports / RCE Tarmac II (based on the clubsports). Also Ground Control makes some great setups. @GC_Adam is a great contact for their stuff.

The RCE Tarmac 2 is based on the KW Clubsports.

yeah i mean im really new to the suspension thing, this is going to be my first full suspension set up... so im going to need some help and advice from all you guys. ive heard awesome things about the Ground Control. but i honestly dont know the company and i tend to steer away from small companies or ones i dont know, mostly because of my ignorance or just fear of being stuck with a small shitty company (usually not the case but still)
basically i guess im just waiting, because i have to haha. i wont be seeing my car for pretty much the next 9 months so i have plenty of time to "study" all this. |

It is good to be patient IMO. There are a lot of options out there and there won't be one clear "winner" that is best for everyone, but if you take your time, do research, and talk to knowledgeable honest suspension shops, you will be able to find something that matches what you want.
We do make our own RCE stuff but we know a good thing when we see one, so we do sell other brands. There are a lot of different buyers out there and rarely is there a one size fits all for suspension. - Andrew |

yeah for sure man but the thing is im stuck in hawaii... and to be honest i havent found one shop out here that doesnt want anything but to just add POWERR or just slam their cars. and thats just not what i want to do. i like the "sleeper" look, and a car that handles very well. so being out here (originally from CA) it sucks haha. but ill be paitent and i will def be looking into your products. thanks for the responces. -daren |

They are all quality suspension systems that you have mentioned, GC does have the benefit of being able to specify your spring rates right out of the box instead of having to buy the Eibach or KW kit and swap them later.
KW was very early to market with their kit which has some thinking there wasn't as much R&D in them as the Eibach, nobody really knows for sure. Any of these choices are very capable for a DD with some track use, best bet would be to see which can give you the best service since you are away from the mainland and go from there. |

ive been to munky werks a few times and i got some rims from them. but i just dont get a good "vibe" from the guys that work there... i might just be doing all the work myself. which i dont mind. just dont have that much time on my hands. but im sure it would be well worth it in the end. but as you know the roads out here are horrible! i have no idea how my friends drive their stance road plows haha BTW they are talking about opening the track back up... but in hawaii time that means 10 years haha |

From my understanding Eibach will also allow you to chose from a range of spring rates on the springs (not sure at what cost).
All good systems. I run KW V3s on my M3 and love it. However, I'm really excited about the R2s. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting, so I hope they are worth while. M3 - KW V3s (two thumbs up) 911 - Bilstein pss9 (mehhh) BRZ - Eibach Multi-Pro R2 (once they're available)
