Ontario Time Attack annual Advanced Driving School at Mosport DDT
here is the skinny
pm me for details or send email to ontariotimeattack@gmail.com Ontario Time Attack is hosting their annual advances driving school at Mosport DDT (driver development track). This is a two day event happening on May 5th and 6th. students are split into 3 groups and alternate between classroom, skidpad/autoslalom, and track sessions. first day we start off slow, controlled, and focus on developing concepts needed to be both safe and fast on a race track. Second day more focus on track driving and speeds go up. You have a dedicated instructor with you for the whole time. Our instructors are long standing motorsport competitors that are qualified to teach (we hold yearly instructor schools to centralize our teaching philosophies) ANY CAR will do, so long as it has tires, brakes and is not falling apart or leaking fluids. You'll also need a SNEL2005 rated Helmet $450.00 includes lunch both days and dinner on saturday ( i think we still give dinners) and a 50 dollar discount towards one of our season competition events. Our School is more than just an instructoring lapping day. We go over racing theory and philosophy, general car prep for track use (shattering many of the hard-wired "truths" of tuner mags), and an introduction to our competition series (rules, regulations etc) Our school is the best and safest way to enter organized grassroots racing in Ontario. We have a limit of 35 slots and are about 80% sold out. So don't delay. Feel free to ask me any questions, as i am the series Chief Registrar.

Man if I live in Ontario I would totally join. Do you know of any good driving school here in BC? I really want to learn more about driving and racing in general.

I'll inquire.
It's not as centralized in BC. You would have car clubs in your region that host events. You can google keywords "solo 1, solosprint, time attack, lapping day" + your local area (can start with BC). Find clubs that do this stuff, and send them an email asking if there are any schools or beginner events going on. if anything what we do is a step up from AutoSlalom, which is cheap and stupid safe (unless someone plans a bad track, which happens) So you can look for local autoslaloms as well using those key words.

=D thank-you. It just doesn't seem right to own a sports car and not know how to use it to it's potential.

here is our event schedule
http://www.casc.on.ca/timeattack_upcoming the July 28th school event is at mosport international raceway, the big track. However i would highly discourage you from attending if you've never been to the smaller tracks and had a season or two under your belt. People crash there regularly, novices and experienced competitors alike. I've never lost it in 2, but i went squirly in 3 and 5.. scary shit and you start believing in all manner of deities.
