I've heard other people complain about this, but I have driven around with 10-20 lbs of groceries in the front seat of my BRZ and not had an issue at all. Not quite sure why it only happens to some people.

FR-S only?

I've heard that if you put the phone closer towards the backrest it will be harder to trip the sensor. I went to pick up a sandwich from the local deli around here before work and I placed the wrapped sandwich as far back in the front seat as it would go. No seatbelt chime. I'd have to assume it's heavier than most phones.

10-20lbs? Try my cellphone in the passenger seat!

Mine kept going off this morning with my sunglasses case and my GPS. Wasn't making me happy. Yes, an FR-S. Far too sensitive!!

Nope, not happening with just my cellphone, either.

Tried my iPod and iPad, as well, nothing is doing it.

first world problems haha

simple solution: use a seat-belt plug

if you're too broke, smash someone's window and cut off theirs. Careful though, you'll need some heavy duty scissors cuz the belts are pretty strong.

Keep the belt latched at all times? Would that look odd?
