As I said, not legal here so I've never shot it. I have shot other 9mm chambered 1911 and it's laughable how accurate they are. Almost no muzzle flip at all, very, very soft shooting.

I don't own any compacts since it's basically impossible to carry here (need to own a business, have a police report that says you need one, or know some politicians). That and they fit my hand like crap.

I was playing with a CZ83 a few weeks ago. The DA trigger pull must have ~14lbs or something it was HEINOUS how heavy and long it was.

It's really that strict in MD?? Screw that....

I love the way my XDs shoots for its size. I'm just getting slightly irritated about how long it's taking to get it back. I shipped it off sept 12th it's my winter gun lol I can't conceal it well with summer clothing.

Yes and they banned a whole ton of semi-autos this year; 45 by name and a whole slew of others by copy-cat test. Want an AR in MD? Can only get a Colt HBAR.

Ah, safety recall? For the most part I'm done with plastic guns. I don't think it was the best choice to go with a polymer frame for my first handgun.

Yea damn recall.

Polymer frame isn't bad since it cuts the weight down so much. Granted lines like kimber and sig will always be better choices as far as build quality, but others still have great if not better reliability. Apparently a lot of the Kimbers have had ejection issues. But then again our fourth gen glocks we use as side arms had the same issues so glock sent us parts to replace all our guns ejection mechanisms. I've never had an issue with my glock though... And it's cool that it can get wet and even fire under water if I ever end up in an under water fun fight........

I need to get myself an AR. I've just been stalling since I'm hoping to get hired by another department that will issue me one. Would save me a good bit of cash!

I'd be moving from MD. Those laws are total crap. Criminals don't follow laws - big shocker I know!!!

Yeah, I've considered moving. I will eventually.

Every Glock owner on the Earth mentions firing underwater...I'm going to leave that alone because I'm not getting into a Glock debate right now. Personally, as a newer shooter, I find that polymer is a bad way to start. Heavy gun means less recoil. Less recoil means better shooting. Sure if you have to carry it all day it's a problem, but that's not a problem for me.

Very true! My boyfriend is a HUGE gun nut. I know little to nothing compaired to him. He actually does competitive shooting. I'd love to get into that if I had the money.

You know it's kinda funny, my ex's mom lives in MD and she bought some POS little gun here and was going to take it back with her to MD but my ex talked her out of it and resold the gun for her. Sadly it's because that woman doesn't need a gun lol

9mm are easy enough to shoot with minimal recoil. My mom has a XD, which is 9mm. Recoil is manageable for someone of short stature or even bigger kids. A .38 or even a .45 caliber pistol might be a better choice for self defense but they have a bit more kick to them. The thing is, you do not need a lot of upper body strength to shoot. Find a range that rents firearms, you might even be able to get in on a class.

I'll be getting my CCWP eventually. I looked at a Sig Mosquito last year but wasn't ready to buy. It's only .22 caliber compared to the 9mm Sig Sauer. But 99% of the time it'll be for target practice. I want something that I can practice with for now. I can always upgrade later.
