Yeah looks like ~28-29k for the Limited. Depending on your local sales tax and other fees, that could hit close to $31/32k OTD.

Wait, people are being snobs about a front macpherson strut suspension?

That is true, my apologies.

Hell you could say this thing's based on the Legacy. The Impreza's just a shortened Legacy chassis anyway. While I don't disagree with anything tranzformer said, I'd like to think this is a very highly modified Impreza chassis.

to me, there is virtually no difference between the fr-s and the brz/prem; pretty much saying i like both front ends equally, +/- zero... so it just boils down to the cost, obviously i will take the fr-s and mod it to my liking, since i will do that regardless...

enter the brz/ltd, which comes with the nice seats and a smart key [and some other stuffz i don't really care about], which i cannot easily obtain thru the aftermarket route, thus, i will pay the added cost and get the top tier model...

31-32k out the window (save kittens) vs 30k is not gonna make or break my decision, but as soon as >30k is announced I'm gonna start looking/testdriving other cars. If it arrives early enough in May I might still get it, but by June I'm gonna settle on something else.

30kOTD/Limited/Manual. I will beat the dealer in the head till we figure something out. I will also accept 32k OTD offset by some free dealer accessories. Pending test drive of course. I am not willing to suck off the 86 god to buy the car if I don't enjoy the drive.

so my choices are:

fr-s/auto @ $26k/otd [employee pricing]
brz/ltd/auto @ $30k/otd, possibly $31k...

as much as i'm a suby fan_boi, the fr-s seems like the obvious choice ;[

i'll still keep my fingers crossed for that slim possibility...

Same, if over $3k0 out the door then on to something else. I am really liking the Mini John Cooper Works. Test drove a normal Cooper S and those things haul. Plus, the JCW is lighter than a BRZ!

Both the BRZ and JCW will be good on the track days I suspect, which is where they will be going this summer.

From a sports car/enthusiast side they have made stupid decisions. From the money making Camry/Corolla/Prius they have done well. But they have sucked their soul dry of any passion in the process. Sell your soul for a few extra bucks?

There's just a lot of really good cars once you get into the 30k price bracket. Like I said, I'll drive it for a month or two, but if I don't love it enough (30k enough), I'll sell it while it's still rare, recoup my money and go buy something else. But I'll give it a try no matter what the price.

Wow, looks like a bunch of people jumping ship. Subaru better release prices before the end of the week or people are gonna start pulling pre-orders (not like that's a problem for them since they are already sold out all over the world, but still).
