It should be noted that whatever you do concerning oil and whether it is burned or not will have virtually zero effect on the timing of the heat death of the universe, which fortunately will not occur for tens of billions of years in the future. Since we as a species are merely a million or so years old, I believe that the universe can be forgiven for not caring what you or I do.

There, that cheered me right up!

True, that. Which means that it doesn't matter how much oil I burn!
I'll go crank up the furnace boiler and then go for a drive to nowhere and back.

Oh, you flatter me. Good call on backing off. We had that conversation last night about following our instincts.

I've seen some similar made from a cut-up Power Wheels car that would "only" cost a few hundred dollars, less if you got the car at a yard sale.

Good point. We can also look forward to the Chinese and Americans putting so much CO2 into the air that Norway in about 100 years will probably look like Florida does today! Surf Oslo?

Oh yes. Although, the average temperature could go up by a good five dozens °F and they'd still have a white christmas around here.
The local traditional christmas tree, the norwegian spruce, will probably only be found in a remote, thin belt at high altitudes.
But I'm sure any piece of shrubbery or something inflatable will do.

Not so sure about Florida, though. Don't get me wrong, I've had some good times in Orlando and no complaints beyond the ever lingering smell of chlorine.
I just think it may be best for all if that place isn't made into a general template. Like, in the long run.

The Internet was invented by a succesion of magnificently brilliant people,
from the early DARPA teams to Tim Berners-Lee and a few others.

Then it was expanded and shaped by a large number of fairly competent and very enthusiastic
people with nice college diplomas and distracting hobbies.

Then came clowns such as myself and extruded a very thick layer of largely unnecessary
and insanely complex blubber on top of all that.

Now, however, a lot of it is fabricated in large offshore plants. They are as machines with human cogs.
You get exactly what you ask for. Which is a problem.
Anything you fail to explain in minute, crisp detail in the specifications will either be missing,
or more likely; present in a warped and weird way with the gaps filled in by someone highly competent
and well intended, but with no knowledge about the context.

And while the total mass of complex systems that needs to cooperate grows exponentially and then some;
nothing gets easier to explain with language in minute, crisp detail without any implied common knowledge,
such as cultural references.

So the quality of internet software, in general, is going down the drain at a rate not dissimilar to how it
infiltrates into every little niche of our lives.

And that's why buying movie tickets is a procedure much more difficult,
and much more prone to failure, than it used to be.
