PS - how did the home inspection go?
Inspections aren't happening until after Christmas. Getting everything else ready in the meantime and that's all going alright.

Very interesting, I work in a similar situation, family owned business therefore 'fuck' the rules!! Anything goes, if a policy doesn't fit the situation in hand then they just change the policy.. That is if there is policy in the first instance.

I agree with you that it is 'worst design ever'.. Can't see it from the driver's seat, have to lift the hood/bonnet and then there isn't much to see because it's sealed in a black box full of magic!! I say the brake design is better...

I worked for a family owned business ONCE, for 7 years (it was an environmental consulting firm).

NEVER again will I work for a family owned business -

I am heading down your way of thinking. It's not a healthy environment if the workers are trying to work in a 'professional' way and the family just wants to make big bucks without a care in the world..

New year, new plan me thinks...

Yep, I agree.

This system was much more dependable.

What was the major downside for automobiles?

Mine is starting to go too. I only have 26k miles on the car. I thought they were supposed to last 100k?

Mine lasted almost exactly 100K but it was a year younger than yours. I thought they were supposed to last 5 years and I only got 4.

Don't remember the mileage but mine lasted just a little better than 4 years before I replaced it. Mine went stone dead when I inadvertently left the dome light on for about 6 hours in a parking garage. Car jumped fine and the battery charged up some on the drive home, but I decided to go ahead and replace it since I was going to take it out to charge it anyway.
