My RA65:

That is a pretty car. I love the Gen Coupes. They need the 5.0L Tau DOHC motor though. Then make a track version with their supercharged kit and watch the Mustang Boss 302 and M3 Coupe cry.

My current ride is a black '00 celica. I'll get this in 2 years when I graduate college and my brother will drive the celica. It's the only way to keep both cars without paying insurance twice.

And the gen coupe is my backup plan, almost picked one up until I saw the 86. If they bump to 2.0t up to the sonata engine or better then I might take it over the '86. I need torque out of a DD.

I'd have to see it to believe it. The Boss 302 has beat lap times of an Audi R8, GT-R, Z06, AMGs, M3's, Porsche's, CTS-V, 370Z, Austin Martins, and much more on Leguna Seca. The thing's a beast!

The Boss Mustang is nice. Although the 2 things I hate about all Mustangs, are the HUGE amount of rear overhang, and the interior. If it wasn't for these two things, I would have bought one.

Although the Genesis Coupe was a replacement for my G35 Coupe, and it was a naturally better fit.

Obviously you could probably guess I'm a Mustang fan and currently I'm driving around an 03 Cobra.

Anyways, I understand where your coming from. My Stang's interior is pretty cheap, and the only good things about it are the interior seats hold you in place like none other! Also, ever since the Fox bodies the weight has been increasing slightly to where they're a tad heavy for optimum performance in my mind. Right now the 5.0 is about 3,650lbs and if it were my choice it would be closer to 3,200- 3,300lbs. I do believe the next generation (should be 2014) will shed a little weight which will be nice. Luckily they are still quite a bit lighter then the other 2 piggies in the segment.

I do like the Hyundai Genesis, both coupe and sedan, but it would be nice to see a higher hp version like a 5.0 version mentioned previously. What I dislike about the Genesis Coupe is that the best version is being compared to the 6 cyl. Mustangs, Comaros, and Challengers even though the price of it is closer to the cost of the V8 versions which seem to be out of its league in terms of performance.

Lighter weight Mustang would rock. I agree, if the was closer to the 3300 lbs mark, it would blow everything out of the water.

As for the Genesis Coupe, in Canada anyways the v6 is cheaper (or on par) with the cost of the v6 pony cars. The 5.0 (no options) only gets close in price to the Genesis Coupe if you are looking at a fully, fully loaded track model (with Navigation, etc).

I got the Track model with Navi, and Ford could not match it for the price (they were about $4k more for a base 5.0, and almost $2k more for a similar loaded v6). I hate the Camaro, and Challenger so both were out of the question for me.

I'm just looking to get in to something smaller again. I've had a few GT type cars (Gen coupe inclusive), but I really don't need the size. I do want a back seat though, but very small will do.

I've owned 3 Preludes in the past, 4 Celica's, and few other small 2+2 coupes, and I really miss that size and weight (especially the 3 7th gen Celicas I had...perfect weight and size, just wrong wheels being powered).

If they made a liftback 'Stang, I'd seriously consider it. I just hate the idea of driving a fastback that isn't a hatch.

Silly, I know.

I drive a Tib on the weekends/after work (have a company van)

And a FX45 when my wife lets me lol (her car)

If/when I end up getting the FT it'll by my baby and the Tib will prob go to my wife for a commuter/gas saver the the FX will continue to be saved for kids someday. Though none of this will happen until we get out of our condo

an '06 Fusion

I don't drive it really, rather, just navigate it towards my destination. You don't really 'drive' boring cars. They just get you places.

Those can be nice cars depending on setup. You have the 4-cylinder or V6? The SEL has the 3.0L like my Mazda and the Sport has the 3.5L. Good motors with lots of potential. Suspension is soft but there are kits available. Here is a shot of one with the MP90 kit.
