Haru has been dealing with some stuff I took him to the vet for on Saturday and so this morning he was sleeping in really late, till around 10:30, then he finally woke up, I gave him one of the medicines he needs, and then he finally decided to start whining to go out around 10:55AM.

So I message my boss like I normally would and say "hey, can we reschedule the meeting for later this afternoon, Haru just woke up later than usual and really needs to go out, so I'll be gone for 20-30 minutes."

His reply: "Sure, but can you please let us know a little earlier next time?"

1. This is an unusual schedule for Haru and I had no idea of knowing when he'd wake up for the day and be ready to go out. I even tried waking him up like an hour earlier and he was still too sleepy, which is fine.
2. My last day is Friday, so asking me to be different "next time" is a little.. lol.

If I had a human baby that needed a diaper change and was screaming, would he expect me to just be like "sorry kid, but I have this non-critical meeting that's already scheduled in 5 mins and I can't miss it."?

Anyway, last night/Saturday night was the first weekend in months I haven't felt depression thinking I have work this week so that tells me I've made the right decision.

NEWS FLASH

It is not a human baby!

Well....

More than likely your corporate work from home policy would state that during work hours you cannot be responsible for the care of another human (ours specifically calls out any human, not just children) which would match the same policy if you were working in the office.

But, hey, since you're a short-timer, tell him to suck it!

We don't have a separate policy for it. Their whole thing the past 2 years has been if you have personal responsibilities at home, feel free to take care of them, just make sure your team is aware and if you need a larger chunk of time, then use PTO for it.

Saw some more invoices from the trade show. To unload our 53ft trailer of stuff(13 self contained skids) and move it 100 yards. Then to move it 100 yards and reload it in a trailer 8 days later. 9100 bucks

It cost 5k round trip from Oregon to Florida.

Unfortunately my cat remembers what time I go to bed, so that is when she FINALLY does something other than sleep or lounge. Nope, 8:30, it's time for zoomies.

It will be dead in 12 to 15 years. About the time a human baby starts to become the biggest hassle.

Clipdat · 11-29-2021, 09:02 PM
