Yeah plenty of the forums I frequented went to VS. Terrible.
VBcloud means that they update the forum every month and are responsible for keeping the back end going. Mostly a set if and forget it. My forum was mostly broken for 2+ years (before I took it over) and it's never bounced back even once everything was working right, but I pay to keep the lights on because it's a great repository of information). I'd hate for FT86 to go that way. |

That probably just depends on how you value your own time.

The most exciting thing for me was "new posts" and has been probably 97% of my activity here after my first year.
Browsing through each section manually is possible, but I don't have an attachment to any section in particular and rather enjoyed being able to see when people would post things like " what is this sound" or "need help" to try and propose a solution if others hadn't already. Oh well, I'll check in once in a great while and reply to PMs. Thanks everyone for everything you've given me!

Database errors have been showing up for years, but now the site is painfully slow on top of serving pop ups.

Be thankful that we have a site for our beloved Twin.. It could be really bad, surfing some other car forum seeking out scraps about our very slow 'sports car'..

That's why I hate to see it potentially dying a slow death...

Nooooo waaaay, it can't die!!! The Twins have a life after "new"... A bit like the 240zeeee.. we should continue with a very strong classic car/restomods/general mods to keep the Twins platform going.. I would say the site is one of best out there..

I can however SEARCH that forum for info 20 plus years of info/posts. I can view user profiles and hit the "NEW POSTS" button and it actually functions rather than giving a database error. Overall, I'm just happy that VS keeps a forum up and running for me and like 4 other regulars. If nothing else, it keeps a lot of info accessible. So IMO being under the VS umbrella probably isn't the worst thing that could happen. I could be wrong though. Maybe the VS transition was the reason there are so few regulars on that site now. I wasn't frequenting at the time that happened. But mostly I think it's that most 7th gen Celica owners are only on instagram & facebook instead of forums (or really, I suppose maybe tik tok, or whatever other thing the youngsters are using these days? )

You would think that the forum sponsors, the ones who are actually paying for ad space here, would want to bring this issue up to the forum owners, as this neglect of site maintenance will eventually affect their sales revenue.
