Did this today and it seems to have resolved the sound issue, exhaust smell under the hood, and CEL's so my initial problem is gone.

Which got rid of my other codes, but now I have:

HLHachiRoku: it's about different rates of thermal expansion of header & engine on heating up and cooling back that flex joints were meant to deal with, not about how tight mounted header feels on cold engine. But true, most recent headers for FA20 don't have flexjoints anymore, so i guess even that thermal expansion wise it deemed not necessary after rich experience for few years of platform being around, and was eliminated for manufacturing simplicity/costs and mechanical strength reasons ..

yep theirs a grey and black connectors, make sure grey to grey and black to black as the front/rear 02 sensors are different.

The one with shorter cable goes to front o2 longer one to rear cannot remember colours off hand.

But I'm trying to determine which one may have the issue, is it possible to determine that based off of cel code?

brz wiring diagram

http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rc...wTIabWl0Jc6WWw

page 105 and 106 wideband 02 is front o2 sensor

both have heaters
looks like green/whit is earth (b+) and heater is HA1A and HT1B

un plug sensors and measure resistance of heater, if its open circuit then its likely the o2 is stuffed.

don't measure or probe connectors with o2 plugged in as its directly back to ECU and you might stuff the ECU.

check with ignition OFF and connectors unplugged probe the 02 sensor not back towards ECU.

Thanks steve. To test this, I need to check the resistance between the +/- leads of the heater? I'm still not sure which wires to test, the diagram doesn't make much sense to me.

If it does turn out bad, am I ok buting a Bosch sensor or should I go oem? Any pointers are appreciated

best run the oem one unless the bosh is a direct replacement with exact same charasterisics as oem sensor.

test for resistance between ground and the HA1A and HT1B conection on each sensor the wiring is colour coded

alse take it to a shop for them to test
