Yup, its your tune. You're allowed to have a cat-back and drop-in filter for stock class.

Yeah sorry I missed that you had a tune...

Allowable mods for stock class:

-You can change wheels as long as they're the same diameter and width, and within .25" offset

-Shocks are completely open. Honestly, you rarely see $5k shocks on anything but the SS cars. You will see custom valved double-adjustable koni yellows on the top cars in most classes though.

-Cat back exhaust

-You can change option packages on a car as long as you do the whole option swap. Not relevant for performance upgrades on a twin.

-Air filters are open

-Brake pads are open

-You can change either the front OR the rear sway bar, not both.

-DOT approved slicks are ok.

In RTR/RT2, you can do all of those, except no slicks. Tires need to be 140TW or greater street tires.

STX... well there's a lot. Go to scca.com and find the rule book if you really want to do an STX build

Hahaha, in all honesty, I'm not too concerned about competing, I just find the activity fun and would like to do better since frankly right now, I suck.
In addition, I don't think I can finance a STX car - plus even if I could, I probably wouldn't like it for just cruising on the weekend anymore.

I'm currently in the process of piecing together my STX FRS and its my daily driver as are most in my little area. Just because a certain modification is allowed doesn't mean its "necessary" to be competitive.

For example, last weekend (my first event of the year) I was only 1.5 seconds away from 1st in STX and .05 seconds away from 2nd and all I have done to my car is an Injen short ram, Cuscu strut tower bar and Buddy Club Spec II cat-back. Everything else is stock.

ask somebody who has been autoxing for a while to ride with you. after they ride with you they will have soo many suggestions and you will learn a lot by just listening to what they have to say. If it was me I would ask one of the guys driving a Miata, we have a cult following of Miata people here and they are extremely competitive, also somewhat similar car.
