Third best N/A 4cyl engine ever produced is the JDM 2zz-ge. 1.8L - 197hp

1. F20 - 120hp/L
2. JDM K20 - 110hp/L
3. JDM 2zz-ge 109.44hp/L

Once again if it was the battle of the exact displacement, a stroker 2.0L 2zz-ge would win. Monkeywrench Racing's 2.0L stroker kit for the 2zz-ge using Mahle 12.3:1 compression pistons produces 220whp, which surpasses s2000's power.
i think the k20 is a better motor than the f20 despite the extra twenty horsepower stock. when these engines get modded, the k20 turns into this disgusting beast that still confuses me as to how they can make so much power so easily. also, if you are opening up the doors to mods as extreme as strokers and the like, that 2zz probably falls by the wayside again. even the old formula atlantic 4ag motors are putting out 240 hp and ive seen the k20 do more than 250 to the wheels.

I understand, but you cannot compare 2.0L to 1.8L, or 2.5L to 2.0L, or 1.8L to 1.6L for that matter. You can compare 1.8L 2zz-ge to 1.8L B18c. So im just allowing 2zz-ge to contend with the honda k and f series engines. Monkeywrench's stroker without a tune simply increases the displacement of the 2zz-ge from 1.8L to 2.0L and gives 220whp. In this perspective whereby the displacement are the exact same, the 2zz-ge wins.

But if we are talking about mod potential. Even when the 2zz-ge is stroked to 2.0L. The k20 will win hands down. Do you agree?

kind of. i see where you are coming from but having the head work for a smaller motor should yield more power and a factory option. the head/ecu for a smaller sized motor is kinda cheating since with a stroker, you are increasing piston speeds and running an aggressive cam profile. i guess its one of those apples to oranges things. i think we can agree on what things are but somewhat disagree with how we feel about them.

It was still the same car, just like the Mazda Atenza is called the Mazda 6 here. The Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC300-400 Z30 was also a duel badged vehicle as well, in fact it had a third name too which is the most known, Toyota Supra Mark IV.

Black Top 3S-GE engine.

2.0L, VVTI, 210 PS (154 kW; 207 hp) at 7,600 rpm and 22.0 kg·m (216 N·m) at 6,400 rpm.

Just saying...

Yes it is, same chassis and the lower end Soarer/SC used an NA 2JZ engine.

where are you getting this info from? i know they both use the 2jz but the cars have different widths, lengths, heights and more indicitively dont have nearly the same wheelbase. i dont understand what you mean by "same" when so much about it is different.

Research and try googling it too, the information is there but like all good information it's buried beyond belief. The only thing that's different is the interior design but the chassis engine and so on are both used in the Soarer and Supra. The bodies are different obviously, hence why the lengths widths and heights are slightly different. I'll provide a youtube link to an SC/Soarer expert who backs up the fact that they are essentially the same car underneath the body.

ive done research. ive even owned a couple of SCs in my day. research tells me that the sc is over a foot longer, has a wheelbase that is five inches longer, one is a hatchback one is a coupe, the sc carries 3% more of its weight over the front wheels. reason tells me that those things that are different, are not the same. you said the soarer/sc400 and the supra were the same car. they most definitely are not. using a youtube video of someone who is running from the police and publicly posting it as "expert" opinion is laughable at best.

i think "similar" and "same" are the same in his vocab, when in actuality the words are only similar

and yes the SR20ve needs to be on this list.

Using this logic:

The Chrysler 300 and the MBZ E Class are the same Car, as is the Chrysler Crossfire and the MBZ SLK,
So is the current 300, the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Charger
So is the Ford S-Max and the Volvo S80
So is the e39 Mitsubishi Galant and the Eagle Talon

same platform =/= same car.

Man, this thread has gone WAY off topic.

There is just one thing wrong there, the Eclipse was the Talon's sister car, not the Galant. The rest of that is pretty spot on. Except you forgot to include the S class Mercedes since the LC/LX Chrysler platform uses components from both E and S class Mercs. Chrysler can utilize Merc components all they want and their cars will still be archaic shit boxes. Even though the Challenger has been burdened with the shit sandwich of having to share the same platform with the 300 and new Charger, it's still the better equipped of the 3. It has a manual.

I don't think the video's poster was the one running from the cops. 1 that would be stupid because the cops lurk youtube looking for people to incriminate themselves. 2 I said Z30 which is the model pictured. some people are beyond dense. Mostly trolls looking to win an argument they've already lost.
