A car that sees boost, but doesn't have a boost gauge is stupid. When the WRX came out it wasn't even an option! At least in '03 or '04 I think they started offering the option. Still don't think they're standard in Subarus though.

AFR and boost should be mandatory on all boosted cars especially with an aftermarket tune

I'd prefer a stand alone ecu, that can sense all of this automatically, and pull back timing/power if anything goes outside set parameters. A good ecu is going to react much quicker than any driver.

They offered the Lamco in '02? Hm, didn't know that. Thought it was a later addition. I stand corrected. I think they finally got the boost gauges in American units in '08; a whole generation later.

I believe 2 bar+ MAP sensors are about $100? (See Below, Roadstercycle installed an 06+ S2000 4 bar sensor)

Really why ? You going to tell me that you will be looking at those gauges while your driving ? Sorry i dont believe that, then you will probably add another 6 gauges for oil temp etc all over your dash. Not needed at all , proper tune , alarm setting to back off and ability to log so as to see whats happening. A shift light is much better , that way you will see it rather than looking at the tacho |

^ ok but what happens when the car runs more than 5 psi .. You'd never know, also wouldn't be able to have a boost cut for safety.
I guess based on this info i would suggest that anyone getting this kit should invest in a upgraded map sensor . If you run 5 psi you'll want a 7-8 psi boost cut John |

I can't wait to get my hands on this kit, but from what I'm reading since i have installed injen intake, Motiv concepts test pipe, over pipe and a Fujitsubo exhaust this kit with it's stage 1 map will not work on my car?

The stage 1 base map would get you started up and to a tuner, but I wouldn't run it hard or long term. Changing that many components brings it beyond the stage 1 parameters.
It's the same as, say, adding a boost controller and running the car at 8psi - the base map isn't designed for that. |
