I had no luck with them at all; they either failed or were a pain to use. The bike pump just works - it even has a built in gauge for those who don't have one and don't want to borrow one.

See. I solved the obesity problem already.
The worst part about using a bike pump is everyone interrupting you to tell you where you can drive to get air. Using a good quality floor pump is not as traumatic as most people seem to envision. Depending on how much air you need, it is generally only a couple of pumps per tire.

Save energy and get a pump out of it (Arnold)! Gas and electricity are expensive!

Mike, what`s your opinion on Michelin Super Sports? for everyday / occasional track days is it ok or should I get something more devoted like the RS3s?

500 lb/in * .75^2 = 281 lb/in rear wheel rate

I'd swap the springs front to rear to get:
500*.95^2 = 451 lb/in front wheel rate
550*.75^2 = 309 lb/in rear wheel rate

And probably reconnect the rear sway, but then more likely to lift the inside rear...

How on earth did this car end up with 57/43 weight distribution?

Can anyone help explain to a novice how wheel rate/motion ratios are calculated? .75, .82 rear values, I don't understand?

The car is nose heavy because it's still a DD for the owner but the seats and spares are removed for race and track days. No weight is removed from the front of the car.

First I'll learn about suspension, then become a weight Nazi. Maybe sometime after I'll learn to drive...

Thanks guys

I switched from 400lb/7.1Kg springs on all 4 corners to 340lb/6.1Kg springs on the front and left the 400lb/7.1Kg on the rear, and I can tell you it made a huge difference in rotation of the car through corners.

Other suspension pieces such as front and rear sways are stock, yet I do have much wider 255/35 R18 wheels and tires ...

It was shocking actually how much softening up the front by 60lbs of spring rate did for the handling.

FWIW ...

In irvine? If you're worried about rain/wet, get the RE11.

Otherwise, RS3.

YES, someone else who runs ~15-20% stiffer springs in the rear!

I feel like I'm finally getting my point across

I dunno if they fixed it on the RS3s, but my previous experience with the RS2s is that they would get greasy really fast, but I have never noticed it when running on the RE-11s.

some of the track instructors swear by the pilot sports, so I was just wondering if it`s the overhype or if it is really worth the extra $$.

Further drop would have been possible if I had used steel mounting plates instead of the thicker aluminum ones or if I didn't like such a upright position. If you were needing more and were willing to modify the floor pan then you could probably get quite a bit more drop but that would involve alot of work.
I'm 6'2" so I'm going to need a bit more. I wish there was a place that had seats in stock for me to try near by.
